Selim is located on the first floor of the hotel next to Emmy meeting space and works wonderfully for meetings, workshops and team days. Selim is ideal for table groups of four or in classroom format, but the space can accommodate up to 50 people seated theatre-style.

If you need a microphone with a lightweight sound system, but the space can handle the sound just fine without it!

Why are we calling our meeting space Selim?

Hotel Lilla Roberts turned a new and exciting leaf in the history of a dynamic property established in 1909. The building was initially built as a power plant for the city of Helsinki, and it remained in this role till 1974 when the Police department took up residence here. The building was then vacated in 2012, as the Police department relocated to other facilities.

The building was designed by architect Selim A. Lindqvist in 1909 as an electrical substation and administrational building. In 1913 and in 1926 the electrical substation was expanded in the courtyard area. The final and current shape of the building was completed in 1931, when the administration building for the Technical Institute was completed as planned by Helsinki’s official architect Gunnar Taucher.

The name of our meeting room, Selim, is a tribute to the architect!
