Anna Ruohonen is a Finnish Paris-based designer and founder of her own clothing label Anna Ruohonen Paris. She designs sustainable affordable luxury fashion. Her designs are a combination of classic and contemporary; a combination of Nordic minimalism and French elegance. Anna Ruohonen collections combine timeless design, high-quality materials and the finest craftsmanship.

Your clothes on demand only

The concept of Anna Ruohonen Label is unique: all designs in her collection are made on demand only and adapted on the measures of the clients. The philosophy of Anna Ruohonen is based on sustainability. Her basic objective in manufacturing is to produce no surplus or unsold garments, no unnecessary stock or prototypes. She cherishes the principle of local production, Made in France / Made in Finland, in the manufacturing process of her collections.

Steps from linear to circular

One of the biggest challenges of the textile industry is waste from the production process itself, i.e. production carried out rife and in excess as to the demand. Today, the quantity of clothes produced is double to the amount of clothes we actually have time to wear. At the same time, one truckload of textile waste ends up in landfill every second. The equation is absurd and unsustainable. The stock of products is the biggest and the most problematic issue the clothing industry is facing today. The demand of clothing is practically impossible to forecast, let alone the preferred colours and sizes needed. A large fraction of the production ends up on sales, and in the end, as waste. Simultaneously, many customers never get the product they wished for. Supply does not meet demand.

The answer to these challenges is made-to-order production. We have practiced the ideology of made-to-order with our primary collection, the Paris atelier collection, for
ten years. We firmly believe that the time is ready to give up stock once and for all. We will only have fitting and color examples of each of the models. The demand will guide the production, not the other way round.

We have in our Helsinki store a large selection of models, colours and materials. Exceptionally due to the pandemic you can visit our store on Saturdays or you can make a private appointment for Tuesdays or Thursdays. We deliver worldwide. You can also visit our website or contact us by email.
