For March – April our featured partner is DUSTY, an avant-garde menswear label that is known for its presentation of artistic signature pieces without compromising on wearability. Designed and expressively created by Marjut Uotila since 2002, DUSTY is an avant-garde menswear label that is known for its presentation of artistic signature pieces without compromising on wearability. Marjut focuses on designing more sustainable ways to enjoy fashion. Her concept of garment storification sees fashion as a collective experience instead of as a mere commodity.

The austere and minimal collections are entirely developed and produced in Finland. For her collections, Marjut works with innovative fabric treatments and pattern making in order to challenge traditional detailing and tailoring.

The winter collection titled Welcome Home suggests an experimental yet beautiful silhouette; home is a state of mind, tranquility. The collection is made of natural fabrics and fibres such as soft cottons and merino wools, to further enhance their wearability and lush hand-feel. Henceforth, the dark monotonous colour palette underlines DUSTY’s signature love for original outstanding detailing and experimental usage of quality fabrics.

The locally developed garments are meticulously manufactured in small independent ateliers in surroundings of Lahti, Finland, nearby the DUSTY studio. All exquisite details are finished by hand, alluding to the artistic uniqueness of each individual piece.
